Dr. Beshara earned his medical degree from Cairo University School of Medicine and is certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP). He also holds additional certification in Addiction Medicine through the International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM) and the
Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine (CSAM). Dr. Beshara is also a Clinical Lecturer with the Department of Family Medicine at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, where he contributes to the training of future physicians. Dr. Beshara provides comprehensive family medicine care for patients of all ages, including management of acute medical concerns, chronic diseases, and preventive health care. His practice includes routine health screenings,
chronic disease management, women’s health care, and minor procedures such as skin treatments, cyst and abscess care, biopsies, ingrown toenail repair, joint injections, and Pap smears. He has experience working in hospital medicine, community family practice, palliative care, and addiction medicine, including work at Red Deer Regional Hospital, St. Mary Family Practice, the Red Deer Street Clinic, and Safe Harbour Clinic supporting vulnerable populations. Dr. Beshara also has extensive experience in Addiction Medicine, working with provincial programs such as V-RAAM (Virtual Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic) and virtual opioid treatment programs, providing evidence-based care for alcohol, tobacco, stimulant, and opioid
use disorders. Dr. Beshara is fluent in English and Arabic. Dr. Fawzy Beshara was awarded the Platinum Award for Physicians and Surgeons in the Community Votes Milton in 2024 and 2025, recognizing his dedication to patient care and community service. Dr. Beshara is accepting new patients and also sees walk-in patients.
